Polow da Don, Wayne Gandy Raise Money for Youth Through Celebrity Bowl
When Charity Comes Home (UrbanNewsRoom, Rian Ashlei) Atlanta — Sunday night, fashionable Atlantans and celebrity guests turned out in droves for Wayne Gandy and Polow da Don’s bowling fundraiser at Atlanta’s swank Ten Pin Alley. The benefit was held to raise money for the celebrities’ two charities, Foundation F.O.C.U.S. and The Wayne Gandy Foundation, which provide programs and events for underprivileged youth that foster a desire for education, build self-esteem and create individuals who are marketable in today’s competitive workforce. Wayne Gandy, who has headed his charity, The Wayne Gandy Foundation for over 10 years says, the idea came when he and Polow da Don’s accountant decided that the charities needed a fresh take on fundraising. Four months and a lot of planning later, and the first fundraiser of its kind, found a home at Ten Pin Alley. “We needed something fun that everyone could participate in. If we hosted a basketball fundraiser, women would complain about their hair,” he joked. No one complained last night as they dined and shared drinks and conversation. ET has learned that Michael’s song “Hold My Hand” with Akon will be released on November 15 as the premiere single from the upcoming album. The singers recorded the tune in 2007. “The world was not ready to hear ‘Hold My Hand’ when it leaked a couple years ago,” Akon said about the ballad that was unofficially released in 2008. “We were devastated about it.
